Mireim is a Maryland-based multidisciplinary artist whose work explores cultural identity, migration, and the complexities of unassimilating. Born in Iraq and raised in the United States, her art reflects the intersection of her bicultural experiences, examining the challenges and healing that come with displacement and belonging.
With a background in public health, Mireim combines insights from her academic training with creative expression. Using mixed media—primarily textured acrylics—her work embodies the fragmented process of cultural assimilation and the emotional weight of inherited traumas. She hopes her work illuminates invisible histories, particularly of Arab and immigrant communities, inviting viewers into a reflective space of connection, identity, and shared healing during uncertain times.
